App walkthrough

The Muse app, tour by tour

Everything about using the Muse app in one place — where to get it, how the first five minutes go, and what each part of the interface is actually for. Every section links to the full guide when you want the deep version.

Short answer

Get the Muse AI app from the App Store (iOS), Google Play (Android), or the web at muse.ai — availability is limited to the US and Canada as of September 2026. Set up with an official invite route, verify your email, confirm you're 18+, and redeem any token codes. Inside, the main chat is your primary conversation, side chats hold separate topics, the Feed carries proactive updates, the Goals tab tracks background work, and Artifacts are the finished documents, pages, and trackers Muse produces. Voice mode lets you talk instead of type, and you can rename Muse and redesign its avatar (Jolly is the default).

01 · Get the app

Three ways in

Muse runs on iOS, Android, and the web — plus WhatsApp and Mac surfaces. As of September 2026, all of them are US & Canada only.

iOS

App Store · US & Canada only

Download Muse from the Apple App Store on your iPhone or iPad. The app reached #1 on the US App Store on September 18, 2026.

Android

Google Play · US & Canada only

Grab it from Google Play on Android phones and tablets. It hit #1 on the US Play Store on September 19, 2026.

Web

muse.ai · US & Canada only

Prefer a browser? Muse runs on the web too, on any device with a modern browser. Same agent, bigger screen for artifact work.

Outside those two countries, the app simply isn't in your store yet — don't trust unofficial APKs or cloned download pages. Download guide → · Availability by region →

02 · First-run setup

Your first five minutes

Setup is short. The five steps below are everything standing between you and your first real task.

  1. Join through an official route

Muse is invite-gated in some waves and open in others. Use the official invitation or access route shown for your region — never an unofficial APK or cloned download page. If your account asks for one, enter an invite code during setup.

  2. Create your account and verify your email

Sign up with accurate details and confirm your email if the app prompts you to. This is what ties your agent, your memory, and any promotional tokens to you.

  3. Confirm you're 18 or older

Muse is an adults-only product — access is limited to users 18 and older, and the app may ask you to confirm that during setup.

  4. Let your agent get set up

Your personal agent provisions its own workspace when you first arrive. Give it a moment — the app will let you know when it's ready to take its first task.

  5. Redeem any codes or token grants

If you have an invite code or a promotional token grant (like the 1-billion-tokens offer), redeem it in the app's account or invite area. The only authoritative balance is the one shown in your own app.

03 · Home screen tour

What each part is for

The app has a small number of surfaces, and each one has a job. Learn the five and you'll stop fighting the interface.

Main chat
Your primary, long-running conversation with Muse. It stays interruptible — you can send several tasks at once and it keeps them straight. This is where finished work begins.
Side chats
Separate threads for separate topics. When a project shouldn't contaminate the context of everything else, give it a side chat instead of piling it into the main one.
Feed
A running feed of proactive updates — briefings, reminders, and things your agent finished while you were away. This is where Muse's 'notify me only when something is meaningfully new' habit lives.
Goals tab
Long-running tasks live here: price tracking, topic monitoring, anything Muse works on in the background. Check the tab for progress instead of babysitting the chat.
Artifacts
Finished work arrives as artifacts — documents, PDFs, web pages, trackers, dashboards. Ask for a study guide or a spending tracker rather than a wall of text.

That’s the whole map. For the full fifteen-minute onboarding — prompts to try, habits that pay off — read the tutorial.

04 · Settings tour

Five things worth checking first

Muse asks for permission before consequential actions — but it's worth knowing where the controls live before it needs to ask. Labels vary by version; look for these ideas in Settings.

Approvals & permissions

Check what Muse may do without asking (standard browsing is allowed by default) and what always stops for your review — emails, purchases, and other hard-to-undo actions. Tighten or loosen as you like.

Data controls & memory

Look for the memory and data controls to see what Muse remembers about you across conversations. Memory files are readable and editable — delete anything you'd rather it forgot.

Redeem tokens

Look for the redeem or invite area in Settings or your account page to enter codes and check your token balance.

Notifications & proactivity

Decide how often Muse reaches out on its own. Proactive messages can be dialed up, down, or off entirely — the feed stays useful either way.

Account

Review the plan or usage terms currently applied to you, your region, and your sign-in details. This is also where eligibility windows for offers appear.

05 · Voice mode

Talk instead of type

What it does

Hold to talk and Muse transcribes, understands, and replies out loud — while it keeps working on your task in the background. Dictation and voice notes are built into the app, and Meta’s real-time audio model handles interruptions, accents, and long sessions.

When to use it

Voice shines for the fuzzy stuff — brainstorming, thinking through a decision, describing a complicated errand while your hands are busy. Save the keyboard for precision work like reviewing a contract or editing a draft line by line.

06 · Avatar & Jolly

Give your agent a face

Every Muse agent comes with an avatar — and by default, that avatar is Jolly.

Meet Jolly

Default avatar · introduced Sept 23, 2026

Jolly is a cream-colored, doll-like creature with beady black eyes — named by Mark Zuckerberg at Meta Connect for its “jolly and completely customizable character and personality.” It’s only a starting point: you can rename your Muse, redesign its appearance, dress it, and tune how proactively it messages you.

Look for the avatar, appearance, or personalization options in your agent’s profile or settings. A name and a face turn an app into a companion — and companions get used.

07 · What's coming

Everything below is announced, not shipped — except where the status chip says otherwise. Availability and dates can change; the guides track the latest.

Muse Charm

Realtime Avatar video chat
