Food & Finance connector

Does Muse connect to Plaid?

Connect your bank and cards so Muse can reason over your real finances.

Plaid official site ↗

What it does

  • Links your bank accounts and cards through Plaid's secure connection
  • Lets Muse see your balances, transactions, and spending patterns when you ask
  • Helps with budgeting, spending reviews, and money questions grounded in your actual data
  • Muse cannot move money — connections are read-only, so it can analyze but never transfer

How to connect

  1. Open the Muse app and go to Settings, then Connectors
  2. Find Plaid in the connector list and tap Connect
  3. Read the info screen about what data Muse will be able to see
  4. Tap Continue, then select your bank or card provider and sign in through Plaid's secure flow
  5. Ask a money question — approvals stay on by default for anything consequential

Example tasks

  • Summarize where my money went this month by category
  • Am I on track with my dining budget this month?
  • How much did I spend on subscriptions in the last 90 days?

Example prompts

Copy one into Muse and adapt it to your situation.

Monthly spending review

Go through my transactions from the last month and tell me my top three spending categories and whether anything looks off.

Budget check

I'm trying to keep food spending under $600 this month. How am I doing so far?

Limitations

  • Read-only access: Muse can analyze your financial data but cannot move money or make payments
  • Only financial institutions supported by Plaid can be connected
  • Available only where Muse is available (US and Canada)
